However, they remained good friends and George admitted, &#;Hedy is the only girl I&#;ve ever asked to marry me.&#; He called Hedy, &#;Penny&#; because she often sat thinking when he came and said, &#;Penny for your thoughts&#;. She once gave him a opher medal which he still wore around his neck. George is, undoubtedly, a talentedly artist. Gay was able to divide her life with people all over the world with her work in the Peace-corps. She laughed with the people of Germany, shared stories with the folks of Simao and broke bread with the people of Switzerland.  Although a heavy hitter in the courtroom, Gay had the kindest heart. If you needed something and she had it, it was yours. If she didn’t have it, she found a way to receive it.

Gay enjoyed being with her doggies and her friends. She enjoyed lunch dates and dancing with her adopted grandchildren. In her words “They had the moves!”.

George Montgomery, the youngest of 15 children, was born on August 27, , and spent his formative years on a Montana homestead south of the Canadian border, not far from the areas where Charles Russell painted so vividly. During Montgomery's first year at the University of Montana, he left his architecture studies and moved to Hollywood. He became a film idol to millions, during the motion Picture industry's "golden years", following in the footsteps of actor and fellow Montanan, Gary Cooper. In addition to a demanding acting career, George found the time and force to design and build a number of exceptional homes; craft fine furniture, create bronze sculpture and collect Western American artwork.
