Note: Traveling as an LGBTQ+ person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our reality as we navigate a world with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling community to get the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they verb to visit for Pride and beyond. Don't be nervous of the world, but always research information specific to your travels. Enjoy Pride, be alert, and look out for each other!

The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past few decades and much of the progress in visibility is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that have taken place in cities around the world.

Celebrate Pride month in Chicago

Chicago knows how to celebrate LGBTQ Pride!  A majority of the Pride month events grab place in the Northalsted neighborhood (commonly referred to as "Boystown"), the first official gay neighborhood in the country, but celebrations - from street festivals, concerts, and parties to the annual parade - take place all over the city.

A complete list of events is below.

Chicago Pride Fest - June 21 & 22,

Organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance (), the annual two-day pride festival takes over Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood every June. Each year, nearly 60, revelers flock to the historic gay neighborhood commonly referred to as "Boystown" to take part in the celebration that includes three harmony stages featuring accepted music headliners, more than arts and crafts vendors, meal from local restaurants, drag shows, DJs, dancing, and much more. ($20 suggested donation at the gate.)
