  4. Booking a hotel in Valencia. PFR Club leaders will be in Valencia Friday 26 June to Monday 6 July , but stay as long or brief as you prefer (the Gay Games are Saturday 27 June to Saturday 4 July ). Our recommendations are:-
    • The Melia Plaza Valencia Hotel (Around AUD$ per night). This will be our "base hotel". Seek using the HOTEL WEBSITE or

      What is the Gay Games?

      The Gay Games is the world&#;s largest all-inclusive sporting event. Similar to the Olympics, LGBTQ+ athletes and allies from around the world appear together for a week of sports and celebration. Beyond competing on an international stage, the Games provide the opportunity to develop community with others in a space cultivated specifically for the LGBTQ+ community. In , the Gay Games will host 38 sports events in Valencia, Spain.

      How does it work?

      Each sport is run by a governing body. The NGBA is the governing body for basketball. Teams will play 5 to 6 round robin games over days and the medal rounds begin on the 4th or 5th day.

      The 12th edition of the Gay Games is coming to Valencia

      Equality, diversity and inclusion will come to Valencia through sport and culture thanks to the Valencia Gay Games.

      The Games are an international sporting and cultural event that is held every four years and is founded on participation, inclusion and the best personal performance.


      Sports at the 12th edition of the Gay Games


      The edition will feature more than 30 sports disciplines including water sports, track and field, badminton, basketball, fencing, and more, as skillfully as local sports such as colpbol, kayak-polo, Valencian pelota and quidditch.

      Cultural events of the Gay Games 


      Music will perform a leading role at the Valencia Gay Games with band and choir festivals. Plastic and stage arts, pyrotechnics and video mapping will also be on the agenda at the games, as will enormous commemorative tributes and parties to celebrate diversity.
