8 LGBTQ+ Marvel Comics Characters That Necessitate to Be in the MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has the entertainment world in the palm of its hands. From the first Iron Man movie to Avengers: Endgame, Marvel established itself as one of the most formidable franchises in film and TV history. Developing a world past Endgame is something the MCU had to be careful with to keep their already dedicated fanbase. However, what seems to be missing that fans have noticed is the ultimate lack of evident and defined LGBTQ+ representation. During this Pride month, we want to confer the future of Marvel and how LGBTQ+ representation is a must moving forward.

Marvel Comics provides practically endless source material for directors and producers of future MCU projects can and should pull from. In fact, there are over 50 LGBTQ+ characters in the comics that include yet to show in the movies or TV shows. Although we are provided glimpses into some of them through Valkyrie, Loki, America Chavez, and Deadpool, clearly shown LGBTQ+ representation is still lacking. We have put together a small list

New diverse comics? Why do we not get a comic about LGBT Marvel Characters?

I don&#;t think we&#;ll realize if Wiccan will appeal or if you works verb as a solo character until someone gives him a chance to try.
I mean, everyone wrote off Kamala khan a year or so ago and she&#;s turned into a massive success

Agreed. Marvel&#;s never supporting and heavily marketed an LGBT on-going where the star&#;s main devotion interest is of the same sex. It&#;s long overdue, grow the balls Marvel and f*ck the haterz.

Well I can give you two reasons for banning it, if its going to piss people off can we not just agree not to use it especially since the moderators will quite happily start handing out bans.

a)moderators don&#;t ban people for correctly using perfectly acceptable social terms. That&#;s just not going to happen.
b)it shouldn&#;t "p*ss people off"; the fact it does I can only assume is due to lack of acceptance of the reality of the world/misconstruing what privilege means. People take the term badly, which is on

LGBT History of Superheroes: Wiccan

Kicking off my list is my favourite LGBT superhero, Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan.

Being openly gay from a adj age, Billy was regularly bullied and ridiculed at college for his homosexuality. One day he unknowingly came into contact with his biological mother Scarlet Witch who seemingly activated his mutant powers of reality warping also known as magic which he demonstrated by nearly killing his bullies.

Billy is an adopted child created by Scarlet Witch from two fragments of the demon Mephisto’s soul as one of twin sons for her and then husband Vision. However Mephisto managed to reabsorb the fragments but destroyed himself in the process due to the influence Scarlet Witch embued in them which in turn created Billy and twin brother Tommy aka Speed.

Billy discovered his true parentage after joining the Immature Avengers, who are essentially fanboys, miss and proteges of the Avengers. The mystery was unravelled in the crossover story Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, which saw Billy reunite with his mother after she regained her memory.

Wiccan and Speed are finally here!

Caution: Spoilers For WandaVision Episode 3 below.

As we’ve been sharing with you for two years now, the MCU is preparing to give us A LOT of LGBTQ representation. At least, at a first glance. And the Marvel Cinematic Universe has just kicked off that representation. Although, it was done with baby steps.

WandaVision is currently airing weekly on Disney+. The show is Disney and Marvel’s attempt at bolstering Disney’s streaming platform with new content outside of Soul and The Mandalorian. Marvel Studios will be supplying Disney with several upcoming series such as Ms. Marvel, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and more.

WandaVision is both a mystery and a family sitcom. It shows Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and The Vision (Paul Bettany) living a charming and comedic family sitcom life in small-town America. But as the series continues, The Dick Van Dyke Show merges with The Twilight Zone and reveals there’s something seriously wrong happening around the seemingly happy scene.
